MADISON YOUTH MINISTRY
Ministering to 7th-12th grade families
Our Purpose
The purpose of the youth ministry at Madison comes from the greatest two commandments given by Jesus in Matthew 22
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
“Love your neighbor as yourself.”
We seek to develop everything our young people participate in through the lens of these two commands. In order to help us to constantly think about these teachings, our youth ministry motto is “Reaching IN, Reaching OUT, Reaching UP.”
REACHING IN
Reaching In
REACHING OUT
Reaching Out
REACHING UP
Reaching Up
teaches our students that God must be our priority and that we need to rely on him at all times.

Please click HERE to fill out the insurance and waiver forms for all Madison Youth Ministry events. This needs to be printed and notarized. Ashley Peeden is a notary public and can notarize your form when you turn it in.
Click HERE to download the youth Bible study curriculum. Our youth Bible classes are intended to be a supplement to family BIble study. We encourage parents to study along with what their children are studying in class so they are better equipped to engage their teenagers in transformative Bible study.
Volunteers are able to help us teach Bible class, chaperone an event, host an event, or be a driver for an event. Complete the following Volunteer Survey to get plugged in to Youth Ministry.
Be a teacher – Message us at youthministry@madisonchurch.org letting us know you’re interested. We are always looking for more teachers and would encourage you to work in pairs to cover work/travel conflicts.
Chaperone an event – A Chaperone is defined as an adult that is willing to do anything and everything for the success of the retreat/event. Our chaperones often Have the opportunity to teach lessons at the retreats. The primary way to sign up to be a chaperone is to fill out the volunteer survey that is posted each year. If you are unable to fill that out and want to chaperone a trip, please email Richard, Jordan, or Ashley and tell us your preferences. Every adult that participates with our youth group is required to undergo a background check. Please let Ashley know if you need more information about this.
Host an event – Hosts are expected to choose the location of the event (their home, the Madison Room, or other location), plan the meal (kid’s are asked to bring money to offset the cost of the meal), select a speaker for the devotional period, and provide that information to Ashley for advertisement in the bulletin & youth announcements.
Be a driver – To drive a 15 passenger van, you need to fill out an insurance request form with Gayle Ortner & contact Lori Kendrick for a motor vehichle background check. Once those are completed, you are eligible to drive one of those vans. The large bus requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL). Class C with passenger endorsement. This type of license requires a physical and both a written and driving test. The church will pay the fees for these requirements provided you are willing to help drive on youth events.

Family-Based Youth Ministry
We believe the best way to have our youth become active members of the church is by encouraging family-based youth ministry. We challenge our teens and families to not simply participate in youth ministry events, but to have an active role within our church as a whole. Here are some ways this is accomplished.
