Jonah’s life is an epic story to teach us all something incredibly important- God’s love for everyone. God is relentless in His efforts to refine us, challenge us, shape our hearts in His will, and walk alongside us. In Jonah’s story, God arranged a calling, a storm, a great fish, a second chance, a plant for comfort, a worm to take it away, and a scorching wind . . . all to turn up the heat, not only on Nineveh but also on Jonah’s need for a change of heart. Jonah’s story ends with him hanging on the ledge of unmerciful bigotry. The point of all of this and the question for each of us to answer is, “Will I join him on that ledge?”
